Kyrie Irving waiting to play due to injury: ‘Knee science is a conspiracy’
(SP) – Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving says despite the expertise of professional doctors on his knee, he will continue to play despite reports that he would miss the rest of the regular season and the playoffs.
Irving said he’s been watching a « whole bunch » of videos on Instagram about knees and discovered there’s a lot about knees that isn’t known yet.
« Did you know the so-called experts used leeches on their knees? » Irving said. “But now I have to believe everything they say now? Why? »
The star guard also said he watched a video that claimed the knees are essentially « the elbows of the legs. »
« That totally blew my mind, » he said. « It made me see everything differently. It made me open my mind. I’m just saying, knee doctors might just be saying knees hurt to make money off surgeries and treatments. I bet I’m perfectly fine.’
Irving then tried to make his point by dunking a basketball, but his knee gave out and he crumpled to the ground, screaming in pain.
« It’s a CONSPIRACY! » Irving screamed as he writhed in pain.
